Training and Apprenticeships

We aim to recruit from within; we have been running butchery apprenticeship schemes for the past 7 years offering 5-7 places per year for apprentices. We also work in conjunction with Essex County Council with regards to the recruitment of apprentices and attend careers fayres within local schools and six form colleges. We encourage development by offering ongoing training (internal and external) and have an onsite trainer. We also have a Human Resource representative on site for staff to talk to should they need to discuss any issues they have, whether this is personal or business related. MEAT Ipswich helps us train and support our apprentices with Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate for Proficiency in Meat, together with English & maths skills.
